EMRT Acquires Lodesterre, LLC
EMRT announces the expansion of its embedded engineering capability through the acquisition of the Rochester based Lodesterre, LLC.
Rochester, NY - March 3, 2006 EMRT, a national leader in developing solutions that integrate intelligent products to enterprise business systems, today announced it has completed the acquisition of Lodesterre, LLC, also based in Rochester. Lodesterre, an established embedded technology company, sees the acquisition as an opportunity to integrate their embedded software services capability into the broader end-to-end solutions market of EMRT.
EMRT CEO Kenneth Peters said, "I am extremely pleased and excited to announce the acquisition of Lodesterre, LLC by EMRT. The capabilities of Lodesterre are firmly centered on digital imaging, embedded Linux, and product development. Lodesterre also brings with it two major partnerships, one in Embedded Linux, and the second a major provider of solutions-on-a-chip for the growing digital entertainment and digital imaging markets. Additionally, their customer base is complimentary to EMRT and our broader skills base within EMRT should offer significant opportunity to the current Lodesterre customers."
According to Wireless Data Research Group, the "machine-to-machine" market is currently worth $9.3 billion, growing to $32 billion by 2008, and the ratio of business transactions conducted by intelligent devices is expected to outgrow transactions from humans by 30-to-one by 2020.
"This growth is being driven by the needs of companies to create additional sources of revenue, reduce costs, increase customer satisfaction and respond to various government regulations,. said Chris Kuntz, Director of Business Development for EMRT."
EMRT's expanding customer base provides evidence of this growth. A major medical device manufacturer engaged EMRT to integrate hospital MRI equipment with the company's field service infrastructure to monitor and preempt failure conditions remotely. A digital-printer manufacturing company enabled the automation of billing and consumable replenishment by using EMRT services.
"The Lodesterre acquisition expands our capability to satisfy these companies' needs by providing exceptional integration services from the intelligent devices to enterprise software", said Kuntz.
